About

NeuroQueer Counseling was created to honor the unique needs of those that exist at the intersection of queerness and neurodivergence.

Therapy for us, by us

My path here began with my own experience of healing within a safe therapeutic relationship. As I came to understand my autistic and queer identities, I also witnessed firsthand how often neurodivergence and queerness are misunderstood in the mental health field. My advocacy for other neurodivergent and queer people in this context, along with my own personal experiences, ultimately shaped the vision for NeuroQueer Counseling.

We are all meant to experience connection and belonging. For many neurodivergent and queer folks, this can be difficult to find in a world that was not designed for us. I believe meaningful relationships are at the heart of healing, and I strive to cultivate this in my therapeutic work.

NeuroQueer Counseling was created so you don't have to explain fundamental parts of who you are while seeking mental health care. My hope is that this can be a soft place to land for people like us.

Experience

My clinical experience includes working with children, teens, adults, and couples in outpatient settings, with a focus on trauma-informed, sex-positive, and queer and neurodivergent-affirming care. I have also designed and facilitated multiple groups for queer and neurodivergent adults. My background in childcare, along with higher education in human development and attachment theory, informs my work across the lifespan.

About me personally

Outside of therapy you can find me watching women’s soccer games, exploring local parks with my dog, creating pottery, watching a comfort show (currently Bob’s Burgers), and enjoying yummy treats.
